Job Description
Art directors are the creative masterminds behind some of the world's most iconic images and campaigns. From fashion spreads to ad campaigns, they have a unique ability to bring concepts to life through imagery and aesthetics. But being an art director is about more than just having a good eye for design. They also need to be able to manage a team of designers and oversee projects from start to finish. And with the ever-changing landscape of the media industry, they need to be able to adapt their skillset to whatever new challenges come their way. In other words, being an art director is one of the most demanding jobs in the business. But for those who have what it takes, it can also be one of the most rewarding.

Duties

Leading a team of artists, an art director typically fulfills the following duties:

● Determine the types of artistic elements to use on a project, including art and photographs

● Determine the best way to visually represent a concept
● Articulate the vision of a project to their team
● Depending on the industry, develop the overall style or look of:

  • Advertising campaigns
  • Publications
  • Film set
  • Television set
  • Theater set
  • Live events
● Review and approve work other staff members produce, such as:

  • Artwork
  • Copy
  • Design
  • Graphics
  • Photography
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications

● Preferably with bachelor’s degree in an art or design
● Proven working experience as Art Director, or at least have previously worked as graphic designers, illustrators, copy editors, or photographers, or in another art or design occupation.

● With at least 3 years of work experience in advertising and public relations firms, newspaper and magazine publishers, motion picture and video industries, and specialized design services firms

● Prolific knowledge and experience in producing quality and effective multimedia outputs, campaigns, events, and projects starting from inception to execution

● Proficient use of Adobe Creative Suite, both static and moving, and wire-framing tools

● With exceptional portfolio demonstrating design skills, versatility, and industry experience
